Often, yes. Apple usually replaces the whole board, which erases the data. We repair the original board so your data stays where it is.
I spilled on my MacBook. What should I do?
Turn it off, unplug it, flip it upside down in a tent shape, and don’t power it on to test it. Then ship it to us as soon as you can.
