Liquid reached this connector on the logic board. With power still running through it, it burnt.
This is the kind of damage we rebuild at the component level to get a Mac to boot again.
The lesson: power off and unplug right away. Power plus liquid is what turns a cleanable spill into a burnt board.
Two MacBook Pro charge ports with heavy corrosion. It got so bad that the ports physically burnt.
Corrosion like this spreads along the board. We remove it, replace what it destroyed, and test every power rail.
The lesson: corrosion doesn’t stop by itself. The longer a wet device waits, the more there is to rebuild.

There’s no drive to pull. The board itself has to work again for the data to come off, so that’s what we repair.
The lesson: when a store says “we can only replace the board,” your data goes with the old one. Ask for a board-level lab first.
